This coffee from Guatemala comes from small producers in the municipality of Santa Barbara in Huehuetenango, an area with high-altitude farms, starting at 1600 meters and reaching 2000 in some areas. The farms where this coffee was obtained are located at about 1700 meters and are planted mainly in Caturra types. This is an area of small owners, not estates as you would see in low areas. The topography would not allow large farms, because the hillside stretches and where, instead, small hamlets are located in the lands carved into the slope of the surrounding hill, which is dotted with countless tiny farms a few hectares each. Pulping and fermentation of coffee is done locally.

This coffee is produced in the Huehuetenango region. Being one of the three non-volcanic regions, it is probably known as the most famous region in Guatemala and offers the highest altitudes in the country, with an average altitude of 1600 - 2000 msl. The extreme remoteness of the city of Huehuetenango requires virtually all producers to process their own coffee. Fortunately, the region has an almost infinite number of rivers and streams, so a mill can be located almost anywhere. This coffee is very good as a unique origin.
